    What a phenomenal example of leverage…Time may be a finite commodity, but using it creatively and efficiently with your “Rule of Three” is an incredible method to multiply your desired effect (profit) with the same effort. I love how this approach also requires the individual doing the content creation to identify her business objective, and think strategically about the long-term as well as short term purpose of the end product. Not only less time wasted, but less “junk” produced as well. Thanks for your insightful and refreshing commentaries on meaningful topics; the world and the world wide web are so much the better because of your efforts!

    Another good video! I'm already following the sub-rule.

    My only concern about repurposing content is, won't people be disappointed if they see a video on YouTube, then come to my site and see the same video, then sign up for my list and get the same video a third time? Or is that not something to worry about?

    Hi Josh . . . if you have enough content, this really won't be a problem. For one, it's just statistically very unlikely that someone's going to see a YouTube clip online, THEN go to your site and see that the exact same clip is is the first one on your website, then get on your list to recieve an email with the exact same clip. And if your content is good, if they do receive the content twice, they'll be happy about it. Finally, repurposing content doesn't mean using the exact same content in the exact same format again and again and again . . . it means (in my view) evolving that content by presenting it the content in different ways, using different formats, and generally improving presentation of the concepts with each iteration.

    I'm also a slow writer, so was very interested in finding an optimal way to create content. At least now I know that my time is paying off, because I have the tendency to create content that might be considered “death defying”.

    I will definitely use the advice to re-purpose and syndicate the content. Relevancy is extremely important, and my new goal is to build an engaged dialogue with my site visitors. Which you've done a great job of here!

    Great post Clay, long may you reuse it!:-) I create a lot of training material and having what I call an ecological outlook is paramount to your survival, what I mean to say is you-ve got to create recyclable contents.

    Funnily enough though I never thought about it in regards to my blog. A great post is one that makes you rethink what you have already implemented and change if for the better: Great post Clay, enjoy Italy!

    Darragh, I'm honored that you stopped by. And regarding thinking about this stuff in regards to your blog . . . I've only started thinking this way about social media content for the last 6 months or so. I think marketers are only JUST starting to figure all of this stuff out.

    Hey Clay, great video thanks. Definitely the best in the series so far! I'm currently developing the lead generating content for my blog (to capture people's emails) and I had every intention of re-purposing content but this idea of “evergreen” content and that way of looking at things is new to me and awesome!

    On your trip to Italy: living in Ireland and loving Italian food I've been there literally dozens of times. Personally I think Rome is one of the MUST SEE cities of the world. Its where everything started. Its a little nuts but as long as you aren't driving there its fine. (plenty of taxi's and trains) driving outside of rome in Italy is fine, but the roads are quite narrow.

    Venice is amazing but expensive, Florence is my personal favourite for atmosphere. If you do end up with a car and are thinking about seeing some cool places I'd recommend San Gimignano (magical little medieval walled town in Tuscany). I'd also recommend a sat nav!

    Only other advice I'd give is to stay away from Pisa airport if at all possible. Ciao! Neil

    “Crush It”, one of the most well-known recent books on social media, encourages exactly the opposite of what your video above suggests: that book says to create tons of content every day and respond to every post on every blog in your niche everyday.

    The same book also encourages people to work on social media 80+ hours a week, every week for a year, if they want a realistic hope of making money online with their content!

    I'm *much* more in your camp, Clay. Thanks to the right mentorship (including yours!) I've been able to achieve financial success online, within 1 year, teaching my own passion+expertise, and doing it all working LESS than 40 hours a week, sometimes taking several weeks (or a month) off.

    For us who are naturally passionate, the aim should always be to do less, so that with less time to work, we will naturally do the important.
