The Beer and Money Show Episode #2: "Prepositioning and The Nanny Method"

Do you like this story?

So last week I asked you if Dave and I should kill the beer and money show. The answer was a very clear “no.”

I’ll blame you for my slow decline into alcoholism.

Anyway, here’s the show. We kept it under 10 minutes for those of you with ADD. And Tracy’s working on making this into iTunes podcast. Because you asked for that.

Action Items

  • Action item #1: After listening to the show, tells us (in the comments) how you’re going to preposition yourself and publicly commit to a deadline (and tweet out a link to your comment so that you’re publicly committed).
  • Action item #2: Click this link to tell Audi that they really should be sponsoring our show.
  • Action item #3: Go check out Dave’s awesome blog.

The Marketing Program is a step-by-step, walk-you-by-
the-hand bootcamp.

Each month, we give you ONE (and no more than one) "marketing project" to complete in your business.

You do that one project each month . . . and we guarantee that if you do the stuff, you'll double your online income during the next 12 months, or we'll double your money back.

Anyway, each monthly marketing project is a plain -as-day, from A-Z, step-by-step, no B.S. blueprint (that has been tested and proven to work over and over again) for getting multiple on-demand cash infusions into your business.

Oh this is perfect. On Monday I committed to launch my worm composting profit share program this FRIDAY, Sept 3, 2010. I am pre-positioning myself to be the in home worm composting expert.

BTW, read that book, great book! Yikes, so ya want us to commit to an action huh? Great idea guys, really!!

Well, I’ve been dragging my heals on my online training product – initially scheduled to be completed by July 31st… yikes!!

So here it is, have the product completed and on the market my Sept. 15th – yeeehaaa ;-) No pressure whatsoever.

P.S. great idea on the show….I predict it will be a HUGE success – oh WAIT it already IS and you are both living in the lap of luxury doing exactly what it is you want to do and your business is exactly where you want it to be. ;-) Ciao.

The Beer and Money Show…. “Where Dave Navarro and I drink marginal shitty beers and talk marketing” – LOVE IT!! You guys rock :)

    • http://twitter.com/RockYourDay Dave Navarro

So good to see you, Christine! Where’s our next @selfmadechick blog post? :-)

    G’Day Dave and Clay,
What a smart nanny. I constantly preach that goals are not enough. They must be supported by performance standards: statements telling how you’ll know you’ve arrived. A major one for my business is to have 1000 subscribers to my membership site by June 30 next year.

As my blog has only about 250 subscribers at present and I have no membership site yet………… .ah well, a faint heart and all that stuff.

    Make sure you have fun.

    Regards

    Leon

One thing I'm going to do differently:

make time for my new blog every day and value it as though it is already providing me with an abundant source of income!

    • http://twitter.com/RockYourDay Dave Navarro

Sweet! Set a regular “appontment” and show up consistently. It gets easier.

  • Melody

Great actionable tip! The Nanny Method is the way to go no matter what your goals are – personal or business.

My goal this week is to get my free “Prepare Your Homes to Sell Faster” de-cluttering & creating appealing, spacious homes tips (that I created for my private clients) out to more realtors across the US, so they can share it with their clients. It's a win-win for both of them – bucks in the bank.

….drink marginal shitty beers and talk marketing?…. Er, your Japanese and Russian brews are anything but marginal – your choice in brew is definitely High Roller just as your Marketing for money tips are !

    Roll on boys !

    • http://twitter.com/RockYourDay Dave Navarro

Well, I think we surprised each other with our choices this week :-) Remember, last week Clay was drinking wine out of a BOX.

    Hope your Audi plan works.

My Nanny Method: by Oct. 1, I will have figured out Aweber and will have 100 subscribers.
Week 1 goal: listen to the Aweber intro video and send one newsletter to my 6 subscribers. (Pitiful I know, but you got to start somewhere.)

  • http://transitionaltimes.biz Mary

I am climbing over my comfort zone. Start bogging 4 days a week and grow my list. I to have a VA. Am by next year will have to 5 mastermind groups of spiritual coaches.

    • http://twitter.com/RockYourDay Dave Navarro

VA is a big step. Always remember not to “pay yourself more” for a task than you could with a VA. Big mental hurdle I’m only now climbing.

  • http://twitter.com/RockYourDay Dave Navarro

Not pitiful. Everybody starts somewhere. The winners are the ones who persevere. :-)

  • http://twitter.com/RockYourDay Dave Navarro

Not quite in the lap of luxury, but I’ve got beer money. :-)

  • http://twitter.com/RockYourDay Dave Navarro

250′s a good start. Next step is moving them to an email list so they can be effectively communicated with!

  • http://twitter.com/RockYourDay Dave Navarro

Solid plan – make it happen!

  • http://www.djaniracortesao.com Djanira

    Love your Nanny Method Challenge!

I commit to hiring a VA to help me free up my time so that I can dedicate more time to supporting others to become more financially successful through doing what they love.

    PS I’ve tweeted this out

  • http://brillbranding.com BrillBranding

I’m committed to finally posting my Aweber signup form to my blog (http://wilmingtonwebdesigner.com) and start getting that list built!

  • Clay Collins

Heh . . . nice. The beer on my end will be getting more marginal over time. Next time I’m drinking schlitz.

  • http://FinanceYourFreedom.com/blog/ Clay Collins

Good one. With few exceptions, if you’re an online business, then your list is your #1 asset.

  • http://FinanceYourFreedom.com/blog/ Clay Collins

Thats awesome. It’s amazing how many people search for “red worms” on the internet. The green business space and the composting niche are excellent.

  • http://themogulmom.com Heather Allard

Clay, you have the BEST voice – you should seriously do voiceovers. Dave, you know I love ya!

LOVE the “Start as you mean to go on” quote from the Nanny. Awesome.

Ok – I’m trying to totally shift gears with my business. I’d like to get away from being content-driven and move towards being service/product-driven, with my focus on something I’ve wanted to do for a LONG time – PR. :D

I’ve already had my website redone by the fabulous Men With Pens and it looks amazing, now it’s just a matter of creating services/products that support my goal of being “in PR”.

I commit to creating this “menu” by October 1, 2010. And Dave, you know I’m a woman of my word. I get shit done. LOL.

    Thanks for another great show!

    Heather

Wow-1st time listener to podcast. Was prepared to be disappointed. Expected not to learn a thing! Thanks for proving me wrong-I love it! Inspiring. I commit to get my eBook on Investing proofed and out by the end of September and get aweber for the mailing list. Whew-I said it-Now IT MUST HAPPEN.

    Alright, here goes:

By October, I will be running as if I were making an income as a traceuse.

That should get me plenty of experience to start blogging about parkour. I’ve used the weather and my strength as excuses for far too long to keep me away from something I really want to do–now is the time to take action more than ever.

I think I can speak for all of us as soon as I say this, our health will be the most critical thing. If we now have our health, I consider that we can get any woman/man we want and any employment we want. But of the modern-day climate of items from the raising prices of supplements and such, I believe the average spend on health solutions is close to $1000-2000 a year for me, it is most likely higher for others. I discovered an awesome way to fund this expenditure which has also helped me fund my holidays. Don’t worry, this is not heading to become any nonsense which bores you to death, and it does truly work, some persons I know who use this definitely make a living off it :) It takes close to an hour to set up and you don’t need a lot funds at all. If you’re interested, just check out the link in my name.
