The Mojave Experiment: I Need Your Feedback

[Note: This post isn’t a “public post” and is only meant for members of my list.  I’d be very grateful if you didn’t share this URL, (i.e. please don’t link to this post from twitter or your blog)].

Every spring, I make a trip to visit my family in Palm Springs, California. And every spring, I start questioning my allegiance to the Midwest.

Seriously. It’s gorgeous here.

It’s 75 degrees outside, sunny, and there isn’t a cloud in the sky.

Anyway, I use this time away from my usual life to prioritize, take stock of my life, confront fears, and reflect on where my businesses are heading.

All of this brings me to . . .

My Dilemma

Last week, I found myself 95% done with a “product.” But I stopped developing it altogether.  I stopped cold in my tracks.

I did this because, while I might come off as nonchalant, I’m fucking obsessed about user experience. And I’m a perfectionist when it comes to my paid products (although my best friends know I’m definitely not a perfectionist about certain other things).

So I stopped developing the product because I knew that, even after I’ve finished the content, the site just wouldn’t be ready for the big ass public launch I was planning.  (That launch is being placed on hold for a bit).

Anyway, when my new thing (i.e. “Project Mojave”) launches, I want to make absolutely sure that the forums are already populated with good content, that the membership software works flawlessly, that the server won’t crumble under user load, and that the helpdesk software I’m using integrates smoothly with the rest of the site.

I want to make sure that every possible kink has been ironed out.

How You Can Benefit From This

So here’s what I’m thinking about doing . . . and I’d like your feedback.

I’m considering offering an initial limited group of 100 people access to Project Mojave.  For 90% off the eventual price.

Here’s the tradeoff:

I want you to use the forums, give me feedback on the content, let me know if the software breaks, and complete 2 or 3 surveys . . .

. . . and in exchange for this, you get 90% off the final price..

Oh, and you’ll also get a fucking lifetime membership.

Oh, I’ll also work with you one-on-one for two months during private, bi-weekly phone consultations (I currently charge $250/hour for consulting, so this alone should pay for your lifetime membership).

Is This Something You’re POTENTIALLY Interested In?

At this point, I’m not looking for commitments (hell, I haven’t even told you exactly what Project Mojave  IS or what the price will be) . . .

. . . but if you’re *potentially* interested in becoming a founding member of Project Mojave, then click this link and email me (or drop me a line at claycollins [at] gmail [dot] com).

I have no clue what the interest will be, but if you and enough others are interested, then you’ll receive more details in the next few days.

Stay tuned,
Clay
