I’m sorry (and how I’m making it up to you)

by Clay on May 13, 2010

So last week, you — and an overwhelming (in a good way) number of others — completed a survey.

One of the survey questions asked this: “What free product would you LOVE for me to create *just* for you?”

Your responses to that question were insightful, thoughtful, and really made me think.

(Also, two of the responses made me laugh out loud and one of them made me cry . . . although I’d never admit that).

Several responses really moved me and I’m feeling more inspired than I’ve felt in a long time.  In fact, it’s been over a year since I’ve had something significant to say about marketing.  But, since going over your survey responses . . .

. . . I’ve started pouring everything I have into something new

Anyway, I want to steal the product I was creating for you . . . and instead use it as free giveaway content during an upcoming offer (i.e. I’m still tweaking it, perfecting it, making it better).

So it isn’t ready this week.

Here’s how I’m going to make it up to you

I’m going to just GIVE you my $197 course on market selection (which is the first 13 videos in Project Mojave).  This product helps you decide what to sell online.

This is a 13-Video, Value-Laden Course With Hours of Content

Anyway, there are no financial strings attached (there will be no upsells, no shipping costs, no continuity, no “trial periods”, and no sales pitches).

I’m just going to hand over the course to (1) thank you, and (2) make up for releasing the free product behind schedule.

Here’s what’s in the Free Niche Selection course . . .

  • How to use market research to get over your fear (of failure, going broke, pain etc.).
  • How to eliminate some of the uncertainty involved in starting a business
  • A blueprint for testing whether or not your online business idea will likely work before you invest in it.
  • Detailed and step-by-step instructions on how to discover profitable markets and niches that others are overlooking (and that can fund your freedom for years).
  • How to decide which of your ideas will likely be the MOST profitable and succeed.
  • How to find reliable sources of income that don’t monopolize all of your free time.

Here’s how to get it . . .

Just leave a simple comment below telling me how you plan to use the course, and I’ll personally hook you up.

Three things to note:

  • If you want this, you must leave a comment on or before next Monday, May 17th
  • I’ll be sending everyone the course NEXT Thursday.
  • Also (but this is NOT at all required), I’d be really grateful if you got on twitter or facebook and let your people know that I’m giving this away. It would be a nice way to say thank you.

That’s it for now.  The grindstone is calling me (and Tracy is Skype-ing me).

–Clay

I just finished listening to your interview with Maren Kate, and then you show up in my RSS reader… you’re just everywhere today!

I’m currently reading/listening to/watching everything I can get my hands on as I put plans in place to jump ship from my 8-5 (10 weeks!). So this course would go into the cue, probably skipping to the top since I’ve found your stuff to be some of the most valuable out there. Thanks for making it available. :)

  • Amanda

I’m going to use it to decide which of my many business ideas I should move forward with this summer. :)

  • Josh W

Hey Clay. I just started reading your blog a couple of weeks ago and I am hooked. I took your survey and am glad that you found the input useful. Like many entrepreneurs, I am always afraid of investing a lot of time and money in something and then watching it crash and burn. I would love to use this material to research and test ideas and products that I have in mind and in development to see which ones might work, which ones might not, and of the ones that could work which deserve my resources. Thanks for all your hard work and enthusiasm.

  • John

I’ll use this curse to meticulously search and enter a new niche market.

I will be using it for my online collectibles business. Thank you!

I’d love to get a copy of this please Clay. Mainly because I need to increase my confidence in “taking the leap” to develop my own business, and feeling more prepared in what I want to do (using these marketing videos) will help me achieve that :)

I will useit to “sort out” bewteen several niches that i am considering! Thanks for the offer! :-)

  • Andy

Hey Clay, I would love this material since I am still trying to figure out how to start a business in an area that I am passionate about. Everything you produce is top notch and I can’t wait to see it!

    Thanks so much!

Hi Clay – thanks for this offer. While I’ve been stuck in research mode for too long now (partly due to fear of course) i have finally begun taking steps on a few initiatives. However, I’d love to have a blueprint for getting some online income flowing sooner – quickly selecting the right, overlooked niche and launching a site the right way. Looking forward to seeing how you do it.

Hi Clay! I’m a web designer working with folks to design user-friendly and sincere websites to market their products. I plan to use the information to better understand my clients and their markets. The better one understands, the better questions one can ask to make the best possible product. I’m hoping there’s even a few nuggets for me and my business too!!

  • Mark Rudder

My goal is to move into pure online marketing.
I’m always looking for resources that help accomplish this.

  • http://www.gantsoftwaresystems.com Will Gant

I’m looking to help IT people (software developers, at first) get out of their corporate jobs and start working for themselves. Towards that end, I’m looking to develop products to help them do so. I need to learn how to do market research appropriately so that I pick topics and products that are useful to them.
Plus, for some reason, you have extremely good timing, as this issue is one of the items I’ve actually been actively thinking about today.

  • Glen

Clay, I’ll use the course to re-connect with the path I have veered off – a simple step by step to get going with something new would be awesome – many thanks mate

I’m gonna sell it and use the money to buy crack.

I plan to use the course to find a ‘muse’ and create more time to knock items off of my learn and do in life list. I recently returned from 7 months of vagabonding in Europe. It’s only taken me a few months back in a cubicle to get the itch again.

I’ve been brainstorming like mad and I hope I can get ideas to move forward with.

    Thanks so much!!!

  • joyce

I want to quit my job and start something new. This course would help me start the process.

Could this be the boost that gets me unsnarled from a Twister game style awkwardness of indecision? Clay, I hope so and would love to try this out. I have started about 24 different directions (really!) and it’s become painful, not profitable. Thanks!

  • Kirk Lyles

Clay, much appreciated. I’ve viewed several of the vid’s already but in a very disorganized fashion with my notes spread out all over the place. I’m hoping to take a week off this summer & pour back over them in a more organized way, pick a niche, and just go for it :)

love what you’re doing–keep it up bro!

    Clay,
Thanks so much. I am going to use this for inspiration – your energy is great. I have two projects that need an infusion of focus and confidence. Both can potentially make enough money to put my very expensive kids through college and maintain my humble (or not so somedays) lifestyle. First project is my passion, it is focused on raising funds (in a fun way) for alternative energy and/or clean water projects. The second is my intellectual challenge – a consulting partnership dedicated to green business. I look forward to next Thursday!

My business is about two years old and I need to figure out how to focus my marketing to be able to increase profits as I go forward. My hope is that determining what is the best niche for me will help be able to narrow my focus.

I plan to use the course in conjunction with all that I am learning through George Kao’s 4 Months to True Livelihood Program. My ultimate goal is to create my own “True Livelihood” using the internet as one of my vehicles. In your language, I am in the process of creating my own “freedom business!”

  • R. Louis

    Clay,

There are a few markets that I’m highly knowledgeable about; however, I’ve avoided them for a few reasons (including not wanting to compete with my clients in select markets). Because of this, my biggest stumbling block has been figuring out what markets I CAN work with, and for that reason I would love to check out this product. It seems like it just might be that “missing link” I’ve been searching for.

  • http://thenewmanpodcast.com Tripp

    Hey Clay,

I just did my first product launch (thanks for your help) and it was a success. I’ll use your product to tweak the existing offering and reach more guys who want to live kickass lives.

    Thanks again,

I’m a dentist and I’m finding myself increasingly frustrated by the total time for money bargin that being a dentist involves. Read the 4HWW 3 years ago and would seriously like to explore something other than sitting looking at mouths all day, so your free course sounds perfect to jump start the freedom process.
    Thanks

  • Pete

Thanks for the hook up! I recently closed my retail business after 5 years, mostly due to the economy. We had a website that did virtually nothing for us as far as ecommerce goes. We occupied a very cut throat niche. This time when I go back into business online, I’d like to know what markets aren’t already flooded before I dive in, so that’s what I’d use the course for.

  • Fiona

think I know my niche, think I know my target, but I need to road test…

  • Amanda

I am a market researcher, but have only just begun to think about applying that methodology to a personal business rather than working for someone else. It’s a little late for mother’s day, I would use your course to help my mother who would like to better market her online and print books.

  • Christy

I’m full of ideas but lack the confidence in them to actually do anything about it. I think this course would help me be a little more confident in my choices.

  • Chris A.

Hey Clay, Thanks for thinking of us. I’ll use this course to delve into profitable niches I’m unaware of and to help me expand my small but growing number of income generating sites. Grow faster, grow faster!

  • Franklin

For me it’s about clarity of focus as someone else mentioned. I’ve tried out different things and my approaches have always been fragmented. Wel, I plan to use this video to “get started” with Mojave. Because I could never decide what to sell, I never really went anywhere with my Mojave subscription.

  • http://onestepfromfreedom.com Pauly

That’s easy. The first bullet you note is exactly what I’ll use it for: to get my sorry self over the fear I have. That and the fourth bullet: Detailed and step-by-step instructions on how to discover profitable markets and niches that others are overlooking. I struggle with that daily. Hourly, almost. To some extent I probably agonize over it more than whether to wear pants to work today. It’s that much of a pain for me.

  • P. Carter

I’d like to use this material for the same reason as many others: to be able to sift through the many ideas swimming in my brain in order to choose the one that is most likely to succeed. I feel like this material would help me to do that in less time and with more efficiency. Thanks for your generosity!

  • Mike Korner

I have a lot of interests and the usual “pick a niche” tools don’t really help. Perhaps your tools have the answer?

  • http://twitter.com/isaacdudek Isaac Dudek

I'd love to get my hands on (eyes in front of?) this course! Market selection has long been the biggest area of confusion for me. There are a million and one ways to potentially measure demand for a new product/service, and having some guidance as to which methods are actually indicative of future success would be massively helpful! I'll use the course to finally identify a niche that satisfies both of my primary requirements: personal passion and market opportunity.

  • bswec

Hi Clay! I participated in the survey and have found your site to be of tremendous value already. I would love to have a copy of your information on market selection so I can determine the best niches to focus on in areas I have knowledge. I need to get a new business off the ground quickly, with a family and a new daughter to support. So this would be incredibly helpful to me. I'm looking forward to it.

  • sebeckley

I will use this to decide which of the four niches I'm considering –I have to pick one and just go with it, but it would really help if I could eliminate some of them entirely. Also, I barter my services to people and they all have niche troubles.

  • http://kristasummitt.com Krista

Hi Clay: Thanks for this very generous offer. I would love to have a copy. I plan to use this information to determine if a couple of business ideas that have been in a holding pattern are truly profitable enough to pursue AND to vet a brand-spanking new business idea I'm excited about.

    PS I love BILT!!!!!

  • http://twitter.com/DaveGuilford Dave Guilford

    Clay,
Wow, that's fantastic. I'm going to use the course to refine my niche within the personal finance space. One of the things I'm most concerned about is how to test the idea for viability before I launch. I have a feeling your course is going to help me answer that.
    Thanks a million!
    Dave

  • justinknorr

I just now am making time to begin my freedom business, but don't know where to start! Very excited to get my hands on this guide and put in some real hours identifying potential markets. Without a framework, this decision can be far to overwhelming… So thank you!

Secondly, when taking the your survey, my specific request was the be able to test markets and understand potential. Exactly what this appears to provide!

    Thanks Clay

  • brentcall

My biggest problem is so many ideas and then trying to managing all of them. I believe if I could find a system to provide market research first, it would eliminate second-guessing projects so that I could drive hard on the one that provides the most return. Thnx.

I am planning to use it to promote my products that have to do with Life Coaching.
PLEASE HELP ME ! I AM FRUSTRATED with this:
I am a life coach but I have a lot of difficulty to ‘name’ my ‘expertise’. I would like your first impression/opinion, which of these can ‘work’?

It is my mission to help people to clarify & realize their personal & professional goals, and I do this using NLP….

According to a “test” that I did, that tested me on my niche market (interests, passion, proximity to target market etc…) my main target market turned out to be “Young (30-50) University Educated, Affluent Greek-Americans who are professionals (ie either executives or business owners)”.

But I am having trouble naming what I do”… If somebody asks me what I do, do I say that “I am a …”

    1) Life Strategist ?
    2) Emotional Intelligence Coach ?
    3) Results Coach ?
    4) Confidence Coach ?
    5) NLP Coach ?
    6) Mind Reprogramming Coach ?
    7) Success Coach ?
or a combination such as ‘Life Strategist & Emotional Intelligence Coach’ or ‘Confidence & Results Coach?
If you can have a quick look at my website http://www.alkistis.net to get ” a feeling of what I am doing & my vibes…”
I feel sooooo stuck with this, I would be infinitely grateful for any help.

Hi Clay, I loved the idea of your survey, but am sad that I did not send you feedback. My major reason was that I know one HUGE area I want to provide information products in, but not how to narrow down that into a manageable niche. I felt I wasn't at the point of being able to give you a valuable suggestion. This offer however, it would really help me to research and narrow down the niche within that area.

    Hey Clay -

The most important thing for me to do right now is 'niche down' and that's what I'm having some trouble with. I spoke with you earlier this week and it appears my initial attempts at writing a sales letter may be too vague or not 'nitched down' enough. I know what I want to do and what I have a passion for…and I truly, with all my heart, think there's a market out there for it and people are struggling with it. I just need to find out how to get in the back door so-to-speak. I'm not interested in marketing any BS on overnight cures and solutions. I want to begin relationships with customers who will stay with me and are committed to what I'm selling and doing.

    So, that's it!

    Peace,
    Nate

Yo Clay [Interesting. When i wrote that I saw a tub of "Yoplait" yoghurt - available in Australia].
I failed to get up with my original Project Mojave membership.
MVA 3 May 2009 claimed three precious family members and then I managed to keep a hospital bed occupied Nov/Dec 2009 – no mean feat here in Melbourne.
Well, I've integrated the loss and am now fit to fire up. Let's go. Change the game.
    Cheers
    Your errant student Diana

Hi, I'll use the course to find the right niches and stop spinning my wheels! Thanks in advance

I am investigating several different verticals right now – areas I have interest and expertise in. But I really don't know which would be a waste of time and energy and which could turn into something big. The lack of clarity on which is the best choice is keeping anything from really getting off the ground. Some outside criteria that has worked well for a pro would be very useful right now.

Hi Clay! Thans so much for this offer. I'm going to use it to help me refine which of my ideas are really worthwhile to pursue and which niches provide the best opportunities for me. This has been a real stumbling block for me and I'm eager for help. Thanks!

  • Kristian Collin Berge

Hey, Clay. I'm already in Project Mojave but I'd like to receive the free course if there is something (anything) that is different from the project mojave content. And I'm curious to find out about your upcoming offer! Talk to you next mentorship call. cheers

  • Anthony Kuo

    Hey Clay,

Thanks for the awesome offer. I've been working on creating niche sites and one of the biggest challenges for me has been choosing the right niches. Is there enough of an audience, are the products profitable enough, is there too little or too much competition…all things that you really should know before you dive into a niche but can only really find out first hand. I'd love to see your approach to it.

    Thanks!

  • thom2009

Looking to start a few new info product type websites. I need to find a good resource to discover hot niches. Hopefully this product helps!

  • Michal Kreslik

This is more and more awesome, Clay! :-)

I have a goal to start my first freedom business in June. Have ton of ideas, but little bit of fear of finding a great domain name (niche) and what exactly to sell, so this is what I´m looking for.

Thank you very much for all your work, I don´t know of anybody who does similar stuff like you… Thumbs up

  • http://matthewbowe.com/portfolio/ MJB

What a great idea. I, like many, get stuck on gaining the confidence to choose a niche that we feel will give us solid ROI. Look forward to seeing your product.

  • srarden

I'll be using this to try and find some niches that can initially give me some financial stability and eventually allow me to move into starting my own full time business.

  • http://twitter.com/annesamoilov Anne Samoilov

This is great Clay. I'm so glad I've discovered you recently.
I've been struggling on whether I should be teaching other people in my market how to be better at what they do or serve the people that we are all serving. It's in my nature to be passionate and support others in their pursuits, so part of me is always wanting to give my “peers” more support. I want to find a way to decide which should be my focus – Teaching other teachers or teaching my clients.

Maybe I'll discover that I can do a little of both and maybe how to start that up!

  • stevenponec

I'm going to use it to give me financial independence and help me find a niche in which I have a passion and can develop something other people can use :) Also I want to use it to develop my internet marketing skills, because I find it more interesting than just as an outlet to receive income.

  • Christopher Smith

I am a recent college grad and have been trying to figure out what to do with my life. I have been looking into many options one of which starting an online business which is not something that they teach you at university, at least where I went. I have a couple friends who have taken your course on niche marketing and they have all said that it has helped them out.

I really enjoy the material you have put together for people and look forward to your future work.

  • Steve

Thanks Clay. Hoping to find out the proper niche to focus my energy into. I've a swirling pool of ideas, would be nice to settle on one with confidence.

  • Kris H.

I work with startups and media makers, so I expect to use this to better understand my clients and support them in their own product developments. Thanks!

  • jessewalters42

I have a product I have been dying to test. This info would be so helpful in solidifying what steps I need to take this way I can decide whether I should go through with product roll out or not. Thanks Clay, you are the best!

  • FreeT

I'm a keen traveller and want to free up more time for that, hopefully with a business that can be managed from anywhere. I've had all sorts of ideas, but still need to learn how to narrow it down and focus in order to suceed. Your advice so far has been very valuable. Looking forward!

  • Jean

I’ll use it to get clear on what to sell. I’ve spent a significant amount of time trying to narrow down to something that makes sense and not convinced I’ve got it yet.

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/ASOLUGRJWPCAIPBC5WLGGEMG3A Selene

I'm trying to get more clarity on how to present my workshops and coaching business, as well as who my target audience is. Thanks, Clay!

  • derekkruger

Clay- I have been struggling for close to a year on what to do. I'm a network administrator and truly love what I do for a living but have decided that being around more for my children is really the thing that I want to do. I want to replace my current income and have the ability to travel with my wife and kids and explore this amazing world with them and see things through their eyes. Corny? Yeah, a little. Fun? HELLS YEAH! I'm tired of being the tired, grumpy dad when I get home. I want to be “Disney Dad”.

  • Stephen

Hi Clay, I have been a passive reader for a few months now. I missed the last enrollment period, but bought Market Samurai on your recommendation and see a real use for it along with your methods. My problem is finding a product that I am passionate about (and also has undeveloped potential). Your Niche Selection Course sounds like it could really help.

  • http://www.livecollarfree.com/ James Schipper

I would use it to get ideas for other niches I may be overlooking. I have so many interests I lose track, or think they aren't worth anything as a topic of knowledge. I need to get over that.

  • Andrew Sanzone

    Dear Clay,

I went through a portion of your program but I don’t think it worked out well for me due to a bad niche selection. I’m going to use your niche selection program to give this another shot and get off to a better start.

    Andrew

  • Lori

    Clay,

I just learned about your work when Laura Roeder mentioned you as the expert on market research for online businesses. Since then, I’ve watched your videos and read your blog posts. The concept behind Project Mohave moves me and I so want to be part of it.

  • Ryan

I have an upcoming product launch with not a whole lot of data supporting it. Not a good thing.

  • http://twitter.com/AdamKingStudio Adam King

Honestly, since I went though PM, I want the resources to share with my family. They're starting an organic gardening/lifestyle project and I want them to have access to your insights and training. With those videos I can sit down with them and help them map a plan of total success.

As always, you leave me shaking my head in awe of your accomplishments.

  • http://AllenJFuller.com/ Allen J Fuller

I have diverse interests, I would like some guidance in how to pick the right focus.

  • smALLFLAGs

By comparing your guidelines to those of other mentors, more clarity for discovering ways to market our flag products might be attained.

Also, one of my sons may benefit from some of your insights.

  • http://www.eugeniawang.com/ Eugenia Wang

Clay, this is incredibly generous of you. Thank you! I'm looking to expand the virtual aspects of my business (including offering telesminars, ebooks) and would love to understand the niche selection process that you use. Thanks again for this.

  • Chris A.

Hey Clay, Thanks for thinking of us. I'll use this course to delve into profitable niches I'm unaware of and to help me expand my small but growing number of income generating sites. Grow faster, grow faster!

    Chris A.

  • Shane

I'm planning to use the videos to launch my own freedom business, so I can do the work I really want to do – work our small farm with my kids – instead of what pays the bills – boring desk job.

  • http://www.smALLFLAGs.com William Gifford

By comparing your ideas to those of other mentors, more clarity in finding new ways of marketing our flag products may be attained.

Also, one of my sons may benefit from your insights in developing a new business of his own.

  • Daniel

    Hi Clay,

My plan for this course it to deepen my understanding Internet Marketing and Product Development. While I'm very much a beginner, I have been reading and doing little tests via several of the popular angles of passive and not so passive income motors. You're posts, emails and videos are some of the more informative and information rich that I've come across, and I'm excited to learn a lot more about your style. In a nutshell, I will use your program to add important pieces to my education, and to prepare to start getting my feet wet.

    Thanks!

    Daniel

  • http://twitter.com/Freemotioncoach Stephanie Cook

Clay, I will use your program to help me make wise choices about use of my marketing resources, and about which programs/services to offer that will give my audience the most value and me the most return on my time. Thanks!
    Stephanie Cook http://www.freemotioncoach.com

  • JamieLee

    Clay,
You're going to make me fall in love aren't you? All I can say is, don't break my heart.

I've been going in circles for the past TWO years over a number of business ideas. Every time I start to settle on one, I a) have another one that distracts me from the first and/or b) get cold feet feeling like what I'd like to do has already been done six ways to Sunday and my work will just drown in all the noise.

The course description sounds like just the thing to help me gain a little confidence in my own ability to vet out my ideas and pick one so that I can DO IT!

Not only that, but you may save my relationship. My ever-supportive and super patient beau is getting tired of watching me spin around in circles. ;)

    Thanks!
    Jamie

I would love to start an online business and would use this course to help me select a product to promote or a niche to get into. Thanks!

  • http://twitter.com/katiemerth Katie

Hi Clay, Thanks for your generous offer! Although I didn't actually complete your survey (boo! sorry…) I was going to comment that I'd like to see something involving your niche market selection expertise.
I quit my day job ~6 months ago, did some traveling, and am now at the stage where I need to earn an income again. I'm straddling the fence of working for the man again, or trying my hand at being self-reliant. I have a long list of vague ideas but feel a little paralyzed at the market selection stage. I'm hoping your videos will shove me in a viable direction. Because, when I'm honest with myself, settling for another “day job” is a cop-out until I give it a try on my own!

  • http://www.jgriffin.org J Griffin

This course is on market selection? Awesome! My interests (and consequently my ideas) are all over the map and my biggest struggle right now is figuring out where to focus my energy. Sounds like this could be a huge help for me.

  • editorAlice

  • evanhadkins

Thanks Clay. For me the part of the course I'm most interested in is finding markets/niches.

I have a blog – it covers health with an emphasis on self-improvement and the slant is to authenticity. I'd like to sell related products – I think it is a LOT about topic selection. So I'm hoping to learn about this.

So finding these and figuring out if they will be profitable is my future basically.

I don't necessarily want to be fabulously wealthy. Just enough to be comfortable and then do some interesting stuff with any surplus. I value time – if you can help me figure out how to make enough with two days work a week that would be superb.

Many thanks for the generous offer.

  • http://twitter.com/MiltBaron Milt Baron

    Count me in,
I've been doing niche marketing for a while now and still struggle with chooseing which ideas to develop and which ones to totally drop. This will be a very useful for me.

P.S. Thanks for forceing me to actually come out of the shadows and comment here. I'm a long time follower and totally dig your stuff. Clay, You are the Man .

  • Cole

    Hey Clay,

I’d use your course to help me refine my ideas, I tend to have a lot of ideas for online business’s but never really follow through because I’m not entirely sure if they’d actually make money or just leave me in a financial mess. This is where I think your product could be great for me, ensuring that there is actually a market for my ideas and finally giving me the courage to take the first few steps of action.

    Thanks man

P.S. I know I don’t comment a lot, but I’d really like to thank you for the inspiring content you consistently put out, it really is a fantastic resource for me personally and I’d just like to let you know that I really, really appreciate it.

  • http://bestlifeimprovement.blogspot.com/ Travis

    Clay,

    Thanks!

    Hi Clay,

I've been paying attention to you over the past two years, and I am SO impressed. I remember seeing an introductory piece you did on how you find out if a product is even worth creating, and thought it was extremely efficient – so I know this will be too.

We'll be using it to help us implement new niche sites and go deeper into the ones we're already in.

    Thanks for the gift!

  • J Howley

I will use the videos to help me decide the best way to utilize the web for distribution of an item I’ve invented and plan on selling once I determine the correct market.

  • Diarmuid

im about to launch a site but my focus is too large. im hoping your material will help me target a more specific niche

  • newsnub

I've been wanting to start an online business, but I'm interested in some many different things that seem to already be saturated. I sort of don't think I'd get anywhere in those saturated markets. It would be great to pick a niche that not only I'm passionate about, but would afford the opportunity to make an income and live comfortably.

  • http://angerflex.com/ Mike Kirkeberg

I would use it to find what my niche should be. I have been blogging for a year and a half and the thing I think is missing most is focus.

  • JoloMisc

Clay I've been a fan for some time now and i'm grateful for the value and content you deliver on line. I'm in the middle of product development and i'm 75% their and i'd like to fine tune my selection criteria and niche targeting with your product. Thank you for the gift and thank you for the awesome content that you deliver. The great thing about what you do Clay is that your helping a lot of people and your encouraging others to do the same.

  • Ed

    Hi Clay,
I have struggled with the problem of poor niche selection longer than I care to admit. The struggle has mostly been in worrying too much about what others think of my niche ideas. In the past three days I think I have uncovered where MY niche really lies and I'm hoping your course will show me if this new niche is truly as good as I think it is, or where I should be looking to find something even better.

Thanks for all that you do.
    Ed

  • randyelee

I'm about 5 months out from being able to leave my full-time job, and part of my process is developing a passive income so I can focus more on what I want to do – Issue-based Documentary work, and if I can incorporate the two, even better. My hope is that this will help facilitate the process.

  • http://twitter.com/AndyFossett Andy Fossett

Clay, this is tremendous! You've got serious balls and serious heart.

I just wanted to chime in to let everyone know that this training is fantastic. I've been with Project Mojave since Day One, and I'll tell you honestly: it was not easy getting started.

What Clay teaches is extremely valuable, but it's not magic. You'll have to apply and practice to get results. I had a false start with my first niche, but I learned from it. Earlier this month, Clay's advice helped my business gross over $25k in four days. On my next launch, I'm confident I can make six figures.

The point to all this is to say that what Clay is giving you guys here can (and did, in my case) lead to fantastic success online. It's a terrific starting place. Grab it now.

  • ebetancourt

My wife and I are currently evaluating different niches and products we can create as she works her way through the audiobook of the four hour work week (I listened to and read the first edition, and am listening again to the new edition as well). Any help with techniques to identify and market different niches would be an amazing resource!

Hey Clay — there's always, always so much more to learn, and you think in a way I deeply respect. So first, I'm always psyched to get new content from you. Second, since I work with people on their own online businesses, and help friends start new ones, I'd be looking to apply your wisdom to their endeavors. This could help tons of people, for sure. A very generous offer my friend.

  • Nacole

This course sounds like it could be something that allows me to take the next step in being an entrepreneur.

  • Andrea

Wow Clay, this is so great! This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for! I am full of business ideas, and constantly coming up with new ones, but absolutely TERRIFIED that they'll all fail and so I never take the plunge. Your course would be perfect — I'd love to learn how to assess my ideas before having to actually build them, to see if they are potentially profitable. I think this product would absolutely help me take the plunge and build my own “freedom business”.

Hey Clay, I was always kinda reluctant to all this internet marketing hype – but I was apparently waiting for somethign to come and better timing. What has changed? Well, now I have a vision that drives me, a vision of leaving the city, moving to the countryside and being independent. I need financial support for that, something that I can manage remotely. So, I believe my vision will motivate me to put work into…whatever will come :)

Hi Clay, I will put this course to great use. I have an idea for an ebook that I'm writing but not sure if there's enough interest to charge for it or if I should just give it away. Also, I have an idea for a product that I use alot that could use some tweaking to make it way more interesting and better and then sell it online. This product would likely entail an investment of money, so your Free Niche Selection Course would help me determine its viability. I'm a homeschooling mom who is looking for multiple streams of income so I can work from home with my child. Thanks!!

  • Dilan

    Hey Clay,

Thanks for the offer! I am going to use this video series to really hone in on my market. I have a couple of ideas and I would love the guidance from you to know which one would be most successful and profitable for me. I have been studying and learning internet marketing for a few months now and am ready to make the jump with a great niche and start making a living!

  • http://www.fatbrokeandalone.com/ Rachel Stivers

I have a lot of ideas, and I'm a bit all over the place – I do some writing, am producing a documentary, work in sales and do some freelance work for a few organizations. I want to create a freedom business – to create some stability because the industry I want to work in is the opposite for a lot of people(film/tv/entertainment). I have an idea, but I want to develop it as much as possible and create something amazing.

  • http://www.consciousbusinessproject.com Ewan

    Sounds great Clay!

I am working on TWO businesses, and while one of them I’m going ahead with regardless (it just juices me so much), the other would really benefit from some good market research…and it’s the thing I hate doing ;) So that is what I will sue this stuff for.

Interesting offer from Clay Collins. I'm going to check it out and refine my niche.

  • Mark

Yes please. No more flailing around. Thank you for the opportunity.

  • mh2375

Clay, I'm starting a business that provides a marketing service for restaurants that improves bottom line the first day they use it. I used your BILT criteria to test the niche market. And, even though it's not a ebook or something similar, I'm really excited. I'm going to use your niche selection course to hone my marketing as I ramp up the business this summer. If this works, I'll be able to finish my degree at Columbia next year! That would make me truly happy.

    Thanks!
    Michael H.

Clay, this is a great idea, thanks for sharing this opportunity with us.

I'm a recent college graduate, and I plan to use this course to begin my entrepreneurial career and market both myself and my knowledge to deliver value to many. I am still trying to narrow my focus and choose my niche, and your course would be perfect for doing this and so much more. Thanks!

    Hey Clay

Absolutely love what you're up to and big props for the content you provide. It's actually valuable! Certainly a step up from some of the stuff out there. I'm interested in what your up to as I have a year of university left to run and I want to spend this time building a space online to generate some additional income to supplement my savings so I can go location independent for a couple of years and learn as much as possible in order to give myself a whole new range of options when it comes to how I'm going to spend my time working. I value it too much just to piss it away in some job I don't give a crap about.

    Big love,

She's slowly getting used to the idea of working online (she's been waitressing for the past three years) and I think going through the niche selection course will really help her. I wouldn't mind going through it with her. Thanks!

The services I offer, marketing consulting to B2B organizations, has me working with a wide range of businesses in a broad array of industries and of diverse sizes. Working to select one or two niches to focus on is difficult and my hope is that this program will help me see the landscape differently and make better choices.

  • Greg

Just trying to narrow down a niche Thanks.

    Hey,

You said it best when offering this course in the first place:

“This product helps you decide what to sell online.”

That's what I need. I've been learning how to sell things online, but the what to sell is what's escaping me at the moment. So a little hand-holding or at least a prod in the right direction would be incredibly gratefully received.

I've seen people recommending you / your blog over on Dave Navarro's Rock Your Day & The Launch Coach blogs, and I'm glad I came over to see what all the fuss was about.

    Thanks,

    Nikki

Clay, thank you for the opportunity. I am really interested in marketing my music for films, TV, etc, and have had several ideas, but haven't moved forward yet. Part of my lack of progress is deciding how to niche down and really concentrate on an audience. Thank you again!

  • jcsprowls

    Like Michael,

I, too, have my market defined. But, I need to build the products I will deliver. I'm hoping this will give me some perspective of how to slice/dice the info into digestible bites that my customers will want to buy.

For a long time now I've wanted to find a way to make a living on the internet. I have lots of ideas, and I hope your content will help me to realise some of them.

  • MichaelWW

    Clay,
I learned about you from listening to Tripp Lanier’s fantastic New Man Podcast. I am currently a sales consultant for medical software, something I kind of fell into while scrambling to find a way to support my family (wife and 2 year old son). There are thing that I like and some that I don’t about being a 'salesperson' but this path has allowed me to learn valuable lessons and really stretch myself. As someone who was very shy socially while growing up I have had to overcome many mental blocks and fears to get to this point.
I am about to make a major move both geographically and career wise. I will be relocating to another state to be closer to my wife’s family and my job will move from a full time employee position to an independent contractor role (for the same company). This will also give me the independence to pursue something that will lead to a more fulfilling day to day for me and hopefully end the cycle of struggling to get by from paycheck to paycheck.
The company I work for now is mostly internet based so I know a little about online marketing and my wife has been selling small items on ebay and etsy for years to help pay the bills (about $400 a month).
I am an extremely creative (even artistic) person by nature and I learn new skills quickly. I am not sure what product to pour myself into yet, but I am hoping that your program will help me narrow it down.
    Thanks a ton

    Best regards,
    Michael WW

  • http://jennifervalerie.com Fruitfulvine2

One of the items you mentioned that was in this course is what caught my eye and is what I would use it for – “How to decide which of your ideas will likely be the MOST profitable and succeed”. I will most likely use it for some of the other things you mentioned but that is the one that stood out the most to me.

  • sh1v

Love your content and your generosity Clay! Your valuable knowledge and insights will help me to determine how feasible and profitable an idea or a niche will be, so that I can take them to the next level! Thanks again for the opportunity.

  • Clarity Calls

I've narrowed down my niche and would like to find out how to do the research to find where to reach these people online and how to keep in touch with their needs.

  • Kelly

Too many people are slipping through the legal cracks. They make too much money so they don't qualify for free legal help, but don't make enough money to afford a lawyer to help them. I'm going to use the information I learn from you to provide better, faster, cheaper and easier to use legal solutions for individuals and micro businesses.

  • Josh

I already have a general idea of what category I want to dive into, but I need help narrowing it down to a niche. I think that the market research know how of this product will help me decide on a customer to target and help me figure out how to tailor my product to those consumers.

I don't want to go into detail about my idea, although it is very vague at the moment, just because I'm paranoid.

Thanks, I'll let you know how it goes.

  • http://www.synchronise.org.uk Monika Koncz

HI Clay, can I have one please? ;)

  • Sam

I'll use it to start a side business to supplement my income from my full time job. I want to use the extra money to travel – or specifically, do the international volunteer programs that exist, some of them cost a bit of money.

  • Andre_Kibbe

I already have keyword research that theoretically validates the niche for the info product I want to create. I was fine moving ahead on that information, but I'm looking to expand my toolkit and implement different methods of market research.

  • http://www.timkerrmusic.wordpress.com Tim Kerr

I'd use the material to help me think outside my current box. I sonetimes get into a rut regarding what kind of products I could make, and this may be limiting my potential. This niche selection course will hopefully de-rut me for a long time!

Thanks for this, Clay! I would use the info to dig deeper and confirm the research I've already done on several niche sites in development. It's always good to learn & test different methods.

    Thanks Clay,
Have a niche stock illustration website in development and 100+ illos ready to go, will also be blogging on practical applications for this artwork. This market is undeveloped and will be challenging. Will be developing further ranges for this site into the future. Love your communication style and your ideas. Definitely studying business models that do not require massive amounts of time.

Heya Clay, Still overdelivering… love it!!
I'd love to switch to an 80/20 timesplit between developing/promoting my own products vs developing/promoting my clients' products. Hey,
I'd like to get your course… gonna use to learn about market research, cause I want to start my first business.

    Thanks!!

  • monpass

For the last 5 years I've been commuting for almost two hour from home to my job. A job I enjoy less each day. I've been trying to find a way to stop that, and do somthing worth with my time, spend more time with my family (at least see my children awake at night, and not just lying asleep in the bed) and be able to enjoy them and enjoy life. I've been reading a lot of info in internet of how having the correct product selling in internet has changed a lot of people, and I just want to learn how to do that, get to people with something they need, or want, or make them know that they need it, and make a living of it.

More important for me is to show (not teach) my children that there are a lot of possibilities in life different than just getting a job and working to make some other people rich.

I think that I can use your advice to make a start in my whole new life.

  • rob

This is a very generous offer I would love to have a web based business
but finding the niche is key. So this will massively help to get on the right track

Clay, Thank you for this free offer. I am 63 and plan on retiring in a year. • Schauneen Davis

Hi Clay, Your coolness and insights are truly inspirational. I plan to use the course to finally start my business and of course….. for the forces of Good! :)

    Thank you so much

  • chriskell

    Hi Cay,

I would love the opportunity to get involved with a project of yours and any info without a hidden agenda! Unfortunately I missed the chance to get involved in Project Mojave last year and my desire for starting an online business drifted for a few months, however its been back with vengeance this last couple of months ( I really cant take much more of my 60 hour a week grind).
So I snapped last week and bought, although I couldn't really afford it a course for 297 bucks that unfortunately has turned out to be a bunch of sales pages with links to other products I must have but cant afford!!!
I am so sick of feeling like the sucker who is providing a living for these guys.
Anyway, the chance to have a look and learn from the material I really wanted to get my hands on last year and for FREE would be awesome!
    Thanks :)

  • Garth

Clay, I have a few too many interests that I am passionate about and I'm having trouble focusing on viable niches. If I don't get the niche research right, I will probably have valuable stuff…that nobody finds.

I have been one of your anonymous fans since I discovered you a few months ago and it is probably time for me to begin to contribute…not just lurk.

    Thanks for your generous offer.

  • Dave

    Hey Clay,

Thanks so much for this. I signed up at Project Mojave a few months ago out of curiosity. Anyways, I hope to use this to get out of my office job, and do what I love to do and make a living off of that. Still in the process of trying to discover what “that” is, although I do know I am tired of working for “the man”.

  • Reesew

Clay, I would use your program to help me search the various niches I am interested in and evauluate which one would allow me to escape my 9-5. I have more to offer the world and your program would train me on how to do it.

I’ve been working a lot lately to get super crystal clear on my strengths and passions, and no doubt I’ll be able to use your material to help me find the intersection between what I’m awesome at and what people need help with (and are willing to pay me for).

    Thanks Heaps, can’t wait!

  • cameronplommer

I have several ideas which your content could help me test and get started.

One idea I have is to set up a consultancy or program to help students in high school and college figure out, “what they want to be when they grow up.”

I also want to get into writing ebooks. The first would be about organization, and it's importance for getting things done. I have a system that I use and I feel could really benefit really talented people, but are bogged down because their shit is all over the place.

  • Ron

Clay, I'm starting an old-fashioned offline business and could use that sort of research to see what if any informational products could accompany it. Thanks for the offer.

  • http://www.duanegordon.com Duane Gordon

I'm an artist. That seems to make it a little tougher to select a niche, since I want my art to stay the same. I'm looking for the people who want my art as it is, and don't want me to change it into something else, so I'm hoping to use your course to identify the people who are already looking for my art (or at least, art just like mine.) That niche must exist… and I'm the artist creating exactly what they want. We just haven't met yet, so I'm hoping your course will help us get together.

  • YoGirly

Clay I have been trying to select a niche ever since I read The 4 Hour Work week by Tim Ferris in 2007. I have a passion for music and fitness, but working a 8 – 5, or 6, or 7, or 8pm… for someone else's dream doesn't allow me to be my creative self. I really want to create an opportunity to live and explore my potential dreams and even help others.

Thank you for a chance to learn your techniques.

  • MrLebowski

Clay, I am a professional musician and aspiring actor and consultant. I am also a lawyer, and I am about done with my practice, which rises or falls based on the blood and sweat I lay down for it. Like YoGirly, I too want the financial and mental freedom to grow my dreams and help others, without any concern over their money.

I want to be able to support myself financially purely from online content so I can have the freedom to spend more time with my family, friends, and the opportunity to try out new things in life

  • John C

I am really looking forward to this. Unfortunately, though I have been following your blog for almost 2-years now…. Most of my current ideas for getting “Free” involve “Jobifying your passion” — which ends up yielding 2-things… 1. 80+ hour work weeks… and 2. Ruining the fun of it…

    So… I need some help…

    Thanks

  • Lloyd Robinson

Thank you very much for this offer, Clay! I have been making a living by playing online poker for the last three years. I have become completely addicted to the freedom that this online stream of income provides. However, making money playing poker is not at all consistent with my values – it's unproductive at best, harmful at worst. I can't feel at all proud of my “work,” and my girlfriend hates to see that I'm doing something that is so incongruent with my personality. I will use your program to find a hungry niche so that I can offer something of value to the world. This will allow me to maintain the freedom I have grown accustomed to while at the same time living up to my highest ideals through productivity and service.

  • Chris

I have a lot of ideas but have yet to find my niche aka “sweet spot”.

Clay – thanks for all that you do. This sounds like a great tool to add to my arsenal. I'll use it to narrow my photography based educational product, that I'm VERY close to launching.

I know I'm late to the comments, but I've been traveling to the bahamas for the last 13 days and just now getting caught up on my emails. I've been on board with Project Mojave now for about 7 months and I'd love the extra motivator to reach my new goals.

Thanks again for all you do – you have no idea.

I'm confidant that you're course will assist me in creating a viable and passive income stream via my new website for self sustainability and living off the grid. I'd like to find the balance of providing solid content, and offering entertainment and hope via the sharing of my adventures along the way. I'm currently building my website, and am looking forward to the gems your course will provide to assist me in my endeavor.

Thank you for the opportunity Clay!

Hi Clay, I can't believe I saw this post a week too late!!! I stumbled on to your site last night thinking this is the EXACT thing that I have been looking for. I have read tons of lifestyle design books and sites, but find yours the most down to earth and truthful.

Better yet, I even found this post, you are giving away your course!!!! Just when I thought you must be God sent to help digging myself out of this rat race hell hole, I saw the May 17th deadline!!!!! I feel like winning the lottery but can't find the ticket :( Please please please tell me if there is any way I can still get the course for free.

When it comes to finding and developing my own niche, I almost suspect I have developed some sort of adult ADHD since I don't seem to be able to stick with one idea. When I came up with something, I got all pumped up, did tons of research, then I got paralyzed by fear and all the uncertainty until I came up with something else and the cycle repeated. I am hoping your course will help me get out of this rut, which I have been in for 2+ years.

I am right now telling myself this obstacle (seeing this post after deadline) does not exist. There is no spoon!!! Please show me the way to get your free course if it's still possible. I would be utmost grateful forever. Also, thanks for starting this whole blog and project.

Is it too late? See… I seriously need this course to even begin to be a real participant….

  • Omar

I know I'm really late here, but I'll give it a shot anyway! :-p

I'm a recent college graduate and was excited about starting my first “real” job. Unfortunately, I'm already bored to tears just a month in!

I want to start an online business; it doesn't have to end up being my calling in life but I am hungry for gaining some practical business experience. Your course seems to be the perfect guide for doing that.

Thank you for giving my the opportunity to learn from you!

    Hello Clay !
My name is Valentin, im a french student in Business.
Last week I gathered my savings and registered for Jeff Walker's Product Launch Formula.
I heard your interview about choosing a niche with Jeff Walker. I really loved it and that's why I popped in your blog ! I wonder if I could get your free niche selection course because it would really help me find a good and profitable niche.

Anyway, you provided me a great help with the interview, thanks a lot :)
